First Floor, Back Wall

Setters,

The organization of this site will be ongoing, if you have any suggestions as to how it ought to be structured please let me know.

As of now my suggestions are to state what problems are yours by tape color.

Constructive criticism is the best way to improve all of our setting, so please be specific as to what negative or positive qualities the respective problems/routes possess.

A guideline of sort should be written up shortly regarding what variables go into a route (no moves that are likely to cause injury, each setter should set within their given range of strength, et. al.)

Later,

Doug

  1. I set the blue, white, red, and black problems.
Is this blog site relative to route setters?
And who are we showing our guidelines to?

  2. Steve,

The blog does extend to route setters.

The guidelines are available to all, I figure the setters instinctively know all or almost all of the criteria that goes into setting a quality line but writing it out may have some benefit.

For example, the ability to set a variety of climbing styles is something I hold to be valuable, technical boulder problems alongside powerful boulder problems demonstrates a better understanding of movement. A quality setter ought to be able to do both.

    More later...
